Why do we celebrate the birthday of Jesus on December 25th? Was this date established by the early Church to capitalize on the popularity of pagan Roman celebrations that preceded it, or was the date assigned by early church leaders because it was nine months after the celebration of Jesus’ conception? Jim examines possible theories related to the dating of Christmas and asks if any of these dating efforts should influence whether or not we, as Christians, ought to celebrate Christmas. Jim also answers listener email related to the orthodoxy of house churches.
